Renault has announced plans to introduce its next generation hatchback, the hatchback sports car at Geneva Motor Shows next year.
The sporty hatchback will be based on the Renault Twizy sports car.
Renault has also confirmed plans to sell a hatchback SUV to complement the Twizys, the sporty sports cars it launched in 2010.
The new hatchback is designed to be used by commuters, students and the occasional tourist.
It will have a range of 200km and will be powered by a 2.0L V6 diesel engine.
Renault said the vehicle would offer “the fastest performance” of any hatchback and that it was designed with the aim of “encouraging the next generation of consumers to become active members of the local community.”
The Renault Twis will be sold at Geneva with the Twis being a limited edition version with an exclusive Renault design.
Renault also announced a brand new Renault Twys model for the city of Geneva.
The model will be launched at the end of January next year with a range price of 1,400 euros (about US$1,400) and the option of being sold at the price of 2,400 (about $2,000).
The Renault Hatchback is the latest Renault sports car to be unveiled at the show.
The first Renault Twise was launched at Geneva in 2012.
