Facing new tech and safety challenges, automakers are trying to reinvent the way cars and trucks operate, and the hatchback is the vehicle for it.
Here are five of the best hatchback concepts you should consider.
The Toyota MR2 HatchbackThe Toyota MR1, the first model to hit the market, was a hybrid sports-truck with a 1.7-liter engine that was fitted with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
The MR2’s predecessor, the MR1S, also featured a 1,5-liter four-stroke engine and a six-speed manual gearbox.
Toyota has since released the MR2S, which it calls the “ultimate hatchback.”
The 1.6-liter V6 engine is paired with a 3.8-liter six-cylindered V8.
The 3.0 litre turbocharged V8 produces 270 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque.
The top speed is limited to 186 mph, and its acceleration is limited only by the driver’s ability to maintain the vehicle in an urban environment.
Nissan Altima HybridThe Nissan Altis are an interesting hybrid concept.
Nissan’s engineers have been working on hybrid cars since 2010.
They came to the realization that electric vehicles (EVs) had the potential to become the “fifth generation” of the automobile.
While they have been using electric cars for a while, Nissan decided to put a lot of effort into designing and building the car.
In order to develop the car, Nissan needed to make sure it was capable of achieving a certain level of efficiency.
Nissan used its hybrid architecture to create a high-tech car.
The company has been able to achieve a remarkable level of hybrid performance.
The Nissan Altimas are powered by a 1-liter three-cylombière engine and are designed to run on electricity only, but that doesn’t mean the car can’t use some other forms of energy.
The Altis Hybrid also comes with a fully electric steering wheel, a rearview camera and a touchscreen display.
It has an EPA-estimated range of 238 miles (375 kilometers) on a full charge.
The car is equipped with a variety of safety features, including lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, a lane keep assist and the Nissan Assist Assist system.
The EV version of the Altima Hybrid will be available in 2019.
Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG The E63 is a hybrid concept that Mercedes-Benzes engineers have dubbed the “e-Class.”
The concept was unveiled in 2015 and is a collaboration between Mercedes-Amphibious and Mercedes-Luxury Cars.
The E 63 is powered by an all-new 2.2-liter two-cylorde V6 turbocharged engine and produces 320 horsepower.
It is coupled to a 5-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
The e-Class is also capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in just 6.1 seconds and has a top speed of 197 mph.
The EPA-rated range of the E63 Hybrid is 227 miles (360 kilometers) and its EPA-based combined driving range is 225 miles (350 kilometers).
The E-Class will be offered in two versions: the base version, which will start at $55,000 (about $56,800) and go up to $70,000, and a higher-performance version, starting at $75,000.
Toyota Corolla HybridThe Toyota Corollas are a hybrid that Toyota developed to meet the needs of both electric and gas-powered cars.
The Corolla is a compact hybrid that can be driven as a sport or a luxury vehicle.
The 2.3-liter diesel engine is fitted with four electric motors and a hybrid powertrain.
The battery is connected to the driver through a USB port, and it is charged using the Toyota Smartphone Charger.
The hybrid has a range of around 110 miles (160 kilometers) but it requires a lot more energy than the gasoline-powered Corolla.
The 1,600-pound (830-kilogram) battery is capable of supplying about 50 miles (80 kilometers) of range on a single charge, which is impressive considering that it takes a while to charge the battery.
The driver can also adjust the engine’s settings to increase or decrease the battery’s range by adjusting the fuel consumption.
The engine is rated at 350 horsepower (440 kW) and 350 lb.-ft. (130 Nm) of torque, but its fuel economy is rated as the best among the hybrids available.
Porsche 918 Hybrid The Porsche 917 Hybrid is a two-door hatchback that is powered solely by electric motors.
It comes equipped with four gasoline-electric motors, a hybrid electric powertrain, a carbon-fiber front fascia and a rear diffuser.
