Dodge Dart sports cars are all the rage in the United States, but that hasn’t stopped them from making the jump to the big leagues in other countries.
The latest Dodge Dart sport sedan to make the jump is the Dodge Dakota.
It was launched in Japan in May and it’s now available in Europe and Asia, including Canada, as well as the United Kingdom, where it’ll be available for sale this fall.
The Dodge Dakota will be the first American sports car to make this jump to North America.
Here are the specs of the Dakota.
The Dakota is powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with a twin-turbo V6 and will go on sale in the US in 2019.
It will cost $34,900.
Dodge says the Dodge is the fastest and most fuel efficient sports car on the market, and the engine’s claimed peak torque of 5,600 lb-ft. will put it in the top half of the American car segment.
The engine also comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which is an improvement over the 6-speed manual that Dodge offered in the previous model year.
In its current configuration, the Dakota will weigh in at 4,300 pounds, making it the lightest sports car in the class.
The new Dakas will make their debut at the 2018 Detroit auto show.
